Stanton, DE : State Police trooper and another motorist not seriously injured two-vehicle crash on Churchman's Rd. on Sunday afternoon, April 10, 2016

A Delaware State Police trooper and another motorist were not seriously injured in a crash Sunday afternoon in Stanton, an official said.

The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. on Limestone Rd. in the area of Jane Way, said Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, a spokesman with the Delaware State Police Department.

The officer was in his vehicle with the siren and emergency lights on. He was going to a physical domestic altercation in progress on Churchman's Rd., Hale said.

When the officer's vehicle entered the intersection another vehicle entered into the right hand turn lane ahead of the trooper forcing him to brake. The trooper’s car then began to fishtail and he eventually struck the rear of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata.

The driver of the Hyundai, an 80-year-old Middletown man, was taken to Christiana Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The trooper was also taken to Christiana Hospital where he was treated and released, Hale said.
