Richmond, VA : Williamsburg man, 21, dies in I-64 motorcycle crash in New Kent County on Sunday afternoon, October 23, 2016

Virginia State Police were investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist on westbound Interstate 64 in New Kent County on Sunday afternoon.

Police said Jarrett M. Schoerner, 21 of Williamsburg, was driving a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle west on I-64 and changing lanes at a high rate of speed when he struck the rear of another vehicle. The incident happened at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on I-64 at mile marker 213.

Schoerner was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 2016 Dodge Journey, was not injured.
