Reserve, LA : Pedestrian died after being struck by a car near Louisiana 3179 on Friday, February 13, 2015
A local man was killed Friday night when struck by a vehicle while walking, authorities said.
Louisiana State Police Trooper Melissa Matey said shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, State Police investigated the fatal crash on Louisiana 44 near Louisiana 3179 that involved a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as Clinton Perrilloux, 33, of Reserve.
Preliminary investigation, Matey said, revealed a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Chase Fergerson, 29, was traveling west on Louisiana 44, just west of the intersection with Louisiana 3179.
"Perrilloux was attempting to cross the travel lanes of Louisiana 44 and was struck by the Impala," Matey said. "Perrilloux was transported to Ochsner River Parishes Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"Speed and impairment are not suspected; however, Fergerson submitted to a breath test and no detectable alcohol was found in his system. Toxicology tests for Perrilloux are pending an autopsy."
