Jonesboro, AR : 78-year-old Inelda Nelson died in a crash on E. Johnson Ave. Wednesday morning, Nov 25, 2015

A Jonesboro woman has died as a result of a crash on E. Johnson Ave. Wednesday morning.

It happened at 9:56 a.m.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department's crash report, 78-year-old Inelda Nelson of Jonesboro was driving a Chrysler 300 east on Johnson Avenue when she crossed over the center lane and into the path of oncoming traffic.

Charles Janes was driving a Toyota pick-up west on Johnson Avenue and swerved to avoid being hit by Nelson. Janes ended up being side swiped and spun out.

Nelson continued driving and hit Ashley Fletcher, who was driving a Nissan Rouge west on Johnson, head on.

Nelson was killed in the crash.

The Jonesboro Police Department, Jonesboro Fire Department, Emerson's Ambulance Service and Medic One all responded to the scene.

Fletcher, Janes and a passenger in his vehicle were all taken to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital with injuries.

The extent of their injuries is unknown.
