Denver, CO : Head-on collision on U.S. 285 injures at least two on Tuesday, February 21st 2017

Two vehicles collided head-on Tuesday evening on U.S. 285 at Kings Valley Road in Conifer.

According to State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid, the crash occurred at 9:11 p.m. and initially shut down the highway in both directions. Reid said an extrication procedure was under way, and a Flight for Life helicopter was standing by to transport one person to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood; a second person was transported by ambulance.

Elk Creek Fire responded to the crash and requested mutual aid from the Evergreen and Platte Canyon fire departments.
