Tucson, AZ : DPS identifies woman who died in crash on Tucson's NW side on Friday, March 25, 2016

A woman died after a crash on Tucson's northwest side on Friday, March 25. This was the ninth traffic fatality in the past seven days.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, 46-year-old Julie Begin died after the car she was driving collided with an SUV at the intersection of West Orange Grove and North Oracle roads at about 8:40 a.m.

Begin was taken to Banner University Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. She died later at the hospital.

The driver of the SUV was a 31-year-old woman. She was stabilized and also taken to Banner UMC, where she was treated and released.

According to the DPS, Begin was making a left turn from Oracle Road (State Route 77) onto eastbound Orange Grove when it was hit on the passenger side by the SUV, which was driving north on Oracle. The SUV rolled over and came to rest on its wheels.

DPS investigators do not consider impairment a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.

Nine people have died and four have been seriously hurt in accidents in the Tucson area, all since Saturday, March 19.
