Bowling Green, KY : Four hurt in accidents on Saturday, December 17th 2016
Separate accidents Saturday resulted in four people being injured.
Two people were injured at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in a two-vehicle crash at Morgantown and Hammett Hill roads.
Jessica Givens, 32, of Lewisburg, was driving her Oldsmobile east on Morgantown Road when she was struck by a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Rejeana Norris, 20, of Bowling Green, according to a news release from the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Norris was attempting to make a left turn from Hammett Hill Road onto Morgantown Road when she entered into the path of oncoming traffic. Both drivers attempted to avoid the collision but couldn't due to wet road conditions, the release said.
Jessica Givens and her passenger, Carol Givens, 55, of Lewisburg, were transported to The Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
At 4:15 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office responded to the 1100 block of Ky. 185, where Jane Lewellyn, 69, of Morgantown, wrecked her SUV. Lewellyn told deputies she dropped off the shoulder and lost control, a release said. The vehicle came to rest against an embankment. Lewellyn was wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision and was transported to The Medical Center by EMS.
At 8:50 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office responded to the 900 block of New Cut Road, where Terry Skinner, 39, of Springfield, lost control of his vehicle, skidded and struck a tree, according to a news release.
Skinner was injured and taken to The Medical Center for treatment of injuries suffered in the collision. Skinner was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
