Grants ,NM :Nevada woman dies, passenger hurt after commercial vehicle crashes on I-40 near Grants Friday ,June 19th 2015

New Mexico State Police say a woman has died and a man is injured when the vehicle they were riding in crashed through a highway median east of Grants.

Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo says that 50-year-old Dianna I. Collier of North Las Vegas, Nevada suffered fatal injuries after the commercial motor vehicle she was driving crashed Friday on I-40. A male co-driver was airlifted to a hospital with injuries.

His condition remains unknown.

Armijo says the incident happened shortly before 5 p.m.

According to investigators, the vehicle left the roadway while traveling eastbound and went into the median. The vehicle then crossed westbound traffic lanes and ended upon the shoulder, where it rolled onto its side.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

No other vehicles were involved.
