Two killed in accident in Goshen California

Two people were killed in a two-car crash on Route 17 in the Village of Goshen Sunday night.


Julian Hermosillo, 29, of Chester, lost control of his Jeep at 8:41 p.m. while heading east. The Jeep jumped the median rail and skidded into the westbound lane, striking an Audi .

Troopers say Hermosillo, the only person in the Jeep, was declared dead at the scene. Giuseppa Avanzato, 90, of Oneonta, a backseat passenger in the Audi, was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center and died as a result of her injuries.

Three others in the Audi were taken to Orange Regional, where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries. They are all from Oneonta. Goshen fire department and the volunteer ambulance assisted.
