Baton Rouge, LA : Man dies, child ejected from vehicle in fiery crash late Sunday on Sunday, 25th September 2016
A man died and a toddler was ejected from a vehicle in a fiery crash late Sunday in Baton Rouge, police said.
Around 10:50 p.m., a 2012 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on Airline Highway in the outside lane, Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. said in a news release. At the same time, a 1996 Cadillac Deville was traveling eastbound in the inside lane and veered into the other lane, striking the Chevrolet.
The Cadillac went off the road into a construction area and struck a concrete driveway, rolling and landing upside down, Coppola said.
A child, who appeared to be around 3 years old, was ejected from the vehicle before it “burst into flames,” Coppola said.
The driver of the Cadillac, Ronald Dunn, 24, died at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle and the child were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
