Kirksville, MO : Two teens injured in ATV accident near Atlanta on April, Saturday 8th 2017

Two northeast Missouri teens sustained injuries when the ATV they were riding struck a utility pole Saturday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Aleassa N. Hruska, 15, sustained minor injuries and Mackenzie A. White, 15, sustained moderate injuries in the crash on LaRado Avenue, about three miles northeast of Atlanta, Mo.

The report states the teens were riding a 2012 Kymco MXU 500 ATV northbound on the road when they traveled through an intersection and struck a utility pole. They were both thrown from the ATV. Hruska, the driver, was wearing a safety device. White was not, according to the report.

The teens were both transported to University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

The ATV sustained minor damage.
