Safford,AZ : Man killed in Artesia UTV accident on August, Sunday 27th 2017

According to a Graham County Sheriff’s Office news release, one man was killed and another injured Sunday night in a UTV accident south of town.


At approximately 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the release continued, a woman reported that her husband was hurt in the accident. Deputies interviewed the man, who reportedly suffered a head injury, at Mount Graham Regional Center. He reportedly told them a second man, a co-worker named Coty Evans, 29, was driving the UTV. He did not know Evans’ location at the time of the interview, according to the news release.

Officers from the Sheriff’s Office and Safford Police Department subsequently found Evans, deceased from an apparent head injury, at the reported accident scene on Artesia Rd. some six miles east of Highway 191. The Graham County Medical Examiner was called to the scene.

The accident is currently under investigation.
