Maine State Police say a selfie led to a crash in the Northern Maine town of Orient.

Jordan Toner, 29, and seven others were traveling on Deering Lake Road around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, when Toner, the driver, leaned over to pose in a photo with friends and lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.

Several people in the car suffered injuries, including two women who were sitting together in the passenger seat. One suffered a fractured nose and the other back and neck injuries. They were not wearing seat belts.

State police issued Toner a summons for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle due to being distracted.
