The driver of a moped was seriously injured in an accident on Tolland Turnpike Tuesday evening, according to police.
According to Police Lt. Ryan Shea, the accident occurred between a vehicle and moped at the intersection of Tolland Turnpike and Chapel Road, at 5:25 p.m.Shea said the operator of the moped suffered significant head injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital. The operator of vehicle wasn’t injured, and is cooperating with the investigation.
Shea said this morning that the cause of the crash hasn’t been determined yet. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information should contact Officer Konrad Rozwadowski at 860-533-8620.
