Hurley, MS : TX couple killed in a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 614 near East Central High School on Monday, October 3, 2016

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has identified the Texas couple killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday in Hurley. MHP spokesman Chase Elkins said Norris Wayne Burrow, 76, and Janie Kennedy Burrow, 79, died in the wreck.

Witnesses at the scene told us the Burrows were part of a large group of people heading to Cruisin’ the Coast from Texas. A friend of the Burrows said they are members of the Piston Heads Car Club.

Elkins said the deadly crash happened near East Central High School on Hwy. 614 when a car pulled out in front of the purple 1973 Volkswagen occupied by the Burrows. The Volkswagen crashed into the driver’s side of the car.

Elkins said the driver of the car was taken to Singing River Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
