St. Thomas, PA : Franklin County man and 3-year-old boy injured following crash on Monday, April 4, 2016

A Franklin County man and 3-year-old boy were pulled from a wrecked car Monday and flown to Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Mark M. Reilly, 28, of Fannettsburg, Pa., suffered serious injuries and the boy had minor injuries, according to a state police news release.

Reilly was driving a Chevrolet Malibu at a high rate of speed on U.S. 30 near Apple Way on Monday at about 3:30 a.m., police said.

Reilly attempted to pass a Dodge Ram driven by Albert P. Lewis, 26, of Waynesboro, Pa., when a vehicle was approaching in the opposite lane, the release said.

Reilly's vehicle clipped the pickup truck and struck a utility pole. The car sustained severe damage.
