Raleigh, NC : 16-year-old on way to high school killed in head-on crash in Wake County on Wednesday, Nov 4, 2015
The N.C. Highway Patrol says a 16-year-old on his way to school has died in a head-on collision east of Raleigh.
A statement from the patrol said 16-year-old Edward Tyler Eason of Raleigh was traveling on a rural road when the car he was driving drifted into the path of a city public works pickup truck around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.
The patrol said Eason, who was apparently on his way to Knightdale High School, died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Wake Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say speed was a factor in the crash. The patrol said no charges will be filed in the case.
