Somerville, NJ : 75-year-old volunteer firefighter struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident in New Jersey on Friday night, March 7, 2015
Police are looking for the motorist who struck and killed a volunteer firefighter outside a Somerville firehouse.
Police say 75-year-old George Kavanaugh was found in front of the Lincoln Hose Company on Friday night. He died at a hospital.
Kavanaugh had been a volunteer member of the department for 50 years.
Assistant Fire Chief Brian Iselin tells the Courier News of Bridgewater the fire department was Kavanaugh's life and he was very dedicated to fire service.
