Eugene, OR : 59-year-old Coos Bay man killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 126 in Lane County on Saturday, May 21, 2016

A 59-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon in a crash with a car on Highway 126 in Lane County, Oregon State Police said.

Khris M. Sacket, 59, of Coos Bay, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

Police said their preliminary investigation found Sacket was riding east when his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to negotiate a sweeping right curve, crossing the center line into the path of a Lexus sedan heading west.

Sacket was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the highway. His motorcycle landed in a ditch and caught fire, police said.

The Lexus driver, Toby Lee Gray, 45, of Florence, was not seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to Peace Harbor Medical Center in Florence, police said.

The crash happened near milepost 26, about seven miles from Walton, authorities said.
