Colfax, CA : One person died aftera a big rig crash on Interstate 80 near Colfax on Monday, August 8, 2016

The roadway was reopened after a deadly big rig crash Monday on eastbound Interstate 80 near Colfax prompted the closure of one land, the California Highway Patrol said.

The lane reopened just before 8 p.m., officials said.

One person was killed in the crash that sparked a brush fire on the roadway.

No additional information on the victim was released.

The crash happened just before 11:45 a.m. near State Route 174, which is east of Colfax.
