The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man who died in a single-vehicle crash on a West Ashley road.
Robert Olynick, 69, of Charleston, died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
The single-vehicle crash happened Saturday on Ashley Crossing Drive near the intersection of Treesapp Court shortly after 2:30 p.m., Inspector Michael Gillooly said. Police said the vehicle had left the road and struck a tree.
They found Olynick, who was the only person in the vehicle, seriously injured, he said. But Charleston firefighters and Charleston County EMS arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
