WESTMINSTER, CA : Craig Dougherty of Westminster killed in crash on Route 2 on Friday, 14th September 2018
A Westminster man died from injuries he suffered in a two-car crash Friday night on Route 2.
According to the state police, Craig Dougherty, 58, of Westminster was driving a 2004 Honda Civic east by the 92.8-mile marker about 9:30 p.m. when his vehicle hit a 2014 Jeep from behind, causing the Civic to roll over.
Mr. Dougherty was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the Jeep, a 25-year-old man from Arlington, Texas, and his passenger, a 25-year-old man from Haverhill, were taken to Leominster Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The right travel lane and breakdown lane were closed for about four hours.
State police from the Athol barracks responded to the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
