A Providence, Kentucky man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Hopkins County on Sunday.It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Rabbit Ridge Road (KY 109) near Utterback Road.Deputies say 43-year-old Jason D. Perkins was traveling south at a high rate of speed, when he attempted to pass anothervehicle.
We’re told Perkins lost control and the vehicle left the south side of the roadway.
Deputies say the car struck an embankment and rolled several times.
The vehicle came to rest several feet off the highway on its top.
Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner's Office.
Deputies say he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
