A 28-year-old woman riding in a car was killed in a crash on Highway 34. Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 34 and Seven Mile Lane east of Interstate 5 at 7:10 p.m. Monday. Fields and his passenger, Anna Myers, 28, of Sweet Home, were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Myers died later that night, police said. A condition update for Fields was not available Tuesday. The driver of the Subaru, Christina Banks, 35, of Lebanon, was not injured. Police said she was wearing a seat belt. Seat belt use in the other car is pending confirmation, according to Oregon State Police. The highway was restricted to one lane for 90 minutes during the investigation.
