Tangent, OR : Sweet Home woman riding in car killed in Hwy 34 crash Monday night on September 8, 2014
A 28-year-old woman riding in a car was killed in a crash on Highway 34.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 34 and Seven Mile Lane east of Interstate 5 at 7:10 p.m. Monday.
Investigators said a 1993 Honda Accord driven by James Fields, 25, of Sweet Home, failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit on the driver side door by a 2004 Subaru Impreza.
Fields and his passenger, Anna Myers, 28, of Sweet Home, were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Myers died later that night, police said.
A condition update for Fields was not available Tuesday.
The driver of the Subaru, Christina Banks, 35, of Lebanon, was not injured. Police said she was wearing a seat belt.
Seat belt use in the other car is pending confirmation, according to Oregon State Police.
The highway was restricted to one lane for 90 minutes during the investigation.
