Vandalia, OH : All lanes reopened on I-75 after deadly crash on Wednesday, July 6, 2016
The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms one person has died after a crash on I-75 northbound.
The victim has been identified as 65-year-old Dale Shumaker of Huber Heights. The crash happened just before 5:20 a.m. Wednesday south of the National Road (U.S. 40) exit.
Sergeant Jeff Kramer, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, says Shumaker was traveling on I-75 when he crashed into a stopped semi-truck.
Two lanes of I-75 northbound were shut down earlier Wednesday morning after a semi-truck caught fire. Sergeant Kramer believes the slowed traffic in the area might have caught the driver off-guard.
OSP is investigating the crash.
