Brown County, SD : Wanblee woman injured in fatal crash in Brown County near Ferney on state Highway 37 on early Wednesday morning, August 13, 2014

A Wanblee woman was seriously injured in a crash in Brown County that took a man's life early Wednesday morning. Lynn Jean Lawson, 48, was a passenger in a car that rolled near Ferney on state Highway 37 about 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said. Lawson was riding in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Steven Carl Lawson of McMinnville, Ore. The Pathfinder rolled after it drifted across the center lane and the driver over-corrected. The vehicle went into a skid and drove off the roadway, rolling three times, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol. Steven Lawson died in the crash. Both people wore seat belts.
