Tacoma, WA : 1 dead, 1 seriously hurt in 3-car wreck on SR 167 between Tacoma and Puyallup on Tuesday, February 14, 2017
One person was killed Tuesday and another was seriously injured in a three-car collision on state Route 167 between Tacoma and Puyallup, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The driver who caused the 5:30 p.m. crash on River Road East two miles outside of Tacoma fled the scene, State Patrol spokesman Todd Bartolac said.
Troopers are seeking a green Saturn Vue with Washington license plate No. APL7862, which is registered to a Federal Way address, Bartolac said.
According to Bartolac:
A man was driving toward Puyallup on SR 167 before the Saturn caused the man’s vehicle to roll over into the Tacoma-bound lanes, where a woman’s vehicle hit it.
The man died at the scene. The woman suffered serious injuries that were not life-threatening, and she was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
The woman had a dog in her vehicle, which was unhurt.
Meanwhile, the Saturn’s driver fled the scene.
“We definitely want to find this person,” Bartolac said.
