Boyne City, MI : man injured in one car crash on Horton Bay Road on Thursday, 27th October, 2016

A Boyne City man was injured in a one-vehicle rollover crash in Charlevoix County's Bay Township Thursday.

The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Horton Bay Road between Church and Stolt roads.

Charlevoix County Sheriff Don Schneider said the crash happened as Arkadiusz Bregula, a 20-year-old North Central Michigan College student who lives in Boyne City was driving north on Horton Bay Road in a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo when he lost control, exited the roadway to the left and the vehicle flipped over into some trees.

Crews from the Resort/Bear Creek Fire Department had to use extrication tools to free Bergula from the wreckage of the vehicle. Bergula was transported by Emmet County EMS to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
