Bristol, WI : 23-year-old woman died in a multi-vehicle crash on Friday morning August 8th 2014
A woman killed in a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning has been identified as 23-year-old Kathryn E. Kowalczyk of Trevor.
Sandor Katona, 81, was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred around 11 a.m. Friday at the intersection of State Highway 45 and County Highway WG. Katona, who was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, has been cited for failing to stop at a red light. Another driver, 44-year-old Steven Foote of Dodge Center, Minn., was treated at St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha and released.
According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department:
Katona's westbound car failed to stop for a red light, colliding with the northbound semi-tractor flatbed driven by Foote. The collision in the intersection forced the flatbed into the southbound lanes, where it collided with a horse trailer driven by Kowalczyk.
The intersection was closed for several hours as a result of crash, which remains under investigation. There were no horses in the trailer. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, authorities said.
