Houston, TX : 3 suffer minor injuries in wreck on Houston Highway on Friday, 31st May 2019

Three Victoria residents were transported Friday afternoon to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Houston Highway.

Adam and Brittney Garcia, both 28, and a child were taken to Citizens Medical Center with minor injuries, said Jonathan Houser, a senior patrol officer with the Victoria Police Department.

Adam Garcia was westbound about 4:30 p.m. in the inside lane of Houston Highway in a Toyota Highlander when his vehicle was hit by a Ford Escape trying to turn left off Hospital Drive onto eastbound Houston Highway, Houser said.

The impact of the collision caused the Highlander to roll 2½ times before it landed right-side up in the 2600 block of Houston Highway.

The driver of the Ford Escape, 51-year-old John Crye, of Victoria, was not injured, Houser said.

No citations were issued to either driver and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, he said.

The Victoria Police Department, University of Houston-Victoria Police Department and Victoria Fire Department responded to the scene.
