Rush Twp., PA : Two people injured in a head-on crash in Northumberland County on Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017

Two people were taken by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center following a head-on crash at 7:50 a.m. this morning along Snydertown Road outside of Riverside.

Following impact, the front portion of a gray Dodge Neon burst into flames and then caught a brown Ford SUV on fire, said John Stassel, Southside Fire Company chief.

State police at Stonington did not have the names of the drivers. Police said a man was driving the car and a woman was operating the SUV. They were the only ones in the vehicles.

Snydertown Road was closed during the cleanup this morning.
