PINCKNEYVILLE, IL : 22-Year-Old Man Sent to Hospital After 3-Vehicle Crash in Pinckneyville on Thursday, 1st August 2024

A Carterville man was sent to a hospital after a three-vehicle crash on Thursday night.

The Pinckneyville Police Department said the crash happened along Highway 13/127 near the Pinckneyville Antique Mall, just after 10 p.m. on August 1.

Police said the crash happened when a 22-year-old from Carterville was driving north on 13/127 when he fell asleep and drifted into oncoming traffic.

The vehicle then hit another vehicle going south on 13/127. A third vehicle reportedly was going south and hit a tire and debris from the crash as well.

The 22-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment for his injuries. He was later flown to another hospital for continued treatment.

Police said citations are pending for the 22-year-old man from Carterville.
