Middletown motorcycle crash injures two

Two people were injured after they dropped their motorcycle to avoid hitting a car that pulled out in front of them Saturday afternoon, police said.

Around noon Saturday, police responded to Monmouth Avenue and Lakeside Avenue for a reported crash, Detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger said.

The driver of the motorcycle broke a few ribs while the passenger suffered a minor head injury, Dollinger said. Both the driver and the passenger were taken to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank to be treated.

The names of the victims were not available.
