PORTAGE COUNTY, OH : 1 person dead in Portage Co. car crash on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016

According to the Portage County Sheriffs Department, one man is dead after a two-car crash in the Township of Buena Vista.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff's officials said a 59-year-old man from Waushara County was hit at the intersection of County Highway J and N, when a 31-year-old woman from Davenport, Iowa, driving a SUV failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the passenger side of the man's pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driving the SUV was transported to Saint Michael's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

The intersection was closed for four hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
