Authorities have identified a 90-year-old man who died Sunday from injuries suffered in a two-car collision in Desert Hot Springs on Friday.
Arthur Shine, a DHS resident, was pronounced dead at Desert Regional Medical Center Sunday after being transported to the hospital for critical injuries, according to Desert Hot Springs police.
The collision occurred Friday around 1 p.m. on Dillon Road just west of Little Morongo Road. According to police, Shine was driving west on Dillon Road in a red, 1986 Nissan pickup when he turned south in front of a 2016 Kia Sorento. The driver of the Kia, a 53-year-old Yucca Valley woman, collided with the pickup. Police said another passenger was in the Kia with the driver, but neither sustained injuries.
The crash closed Dillon Road for about five hours on Friday.
