Wailuku, HI : Pedestrian killed in crash with dirt bike into Wailuku River in Happy Valley on Wednesday, July 27, 2016

A 73-year-old Molokai man died Wednesday after being struck by a dirt bike in a crash that sent its 19-year-old female operator over a bridge and 25 to 30 feet down into Wailuku River in Happy Valley, police said.

Police were not identifying the fatality victim Wednesday night, pending notification of next of kin.

The Hoolehua, Molokai, teenager operating the dirt bike sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash and was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center, police said. She did not appear to be wearing a helmet.
