Two vehicles collided on East 25th Street on Sunday, critically injuring a toddler and one of the drivers, Winston-Salem police said in a news release.
The crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. near North Jackson Avenue.
Police said Ronnie Wesley Ramos Ponce was driving a Chevrolet Malibu westbound on East 25th Street when the car crossed left of center and into the path of an eastbound Nissan Altima.
Kendra Shanika McClary, who was driving the Altima, attempted to avoid the Malibu by turning to the left. The right side of the Malibu struck the right side of the Altima, police said.
Ponce, 22, of the 4000 block of Leo Street, was transported to a local hospital for injuries that were critical, but not life-threatening.
McClary and her passenger, a 2-year-old boy, also were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The toddler suffered critical injuries and was in stable condition, and McClary suffered minor injuries, according to the release.
The 1500 block of East 25th Street was closed for approximately five hours and traffic was diverted around the crash scene.
