Marion,NC : 2 with serious injuries from ATV accident, wreck on I-40 sends one to hospital on June, Sunday 18th 2017

Two accidents hours apart on Sunday, one on the interstate and one involving an ATV, sent three patients to the hospital with injuries, according to reports.

On Sunday at approximately 1:34 p.m., McDowell EMS, McDowell Rescue Squad and Marion Fire Department responded to I-40 eastbound near the 83 mile marker in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Eastbound traffic was closed for more than an hour, reopening at 2:51 p.m. One patient was transported to McDowell Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a report by Emergency Services Director William Kehler.At approximately 6:38 p.m. the same day, EMS, Rescue Squad and Dysartsville Fire Department responded to Newton Hollow Drive in the Dysartsville area in reference to an ATV crash. Two patients were taken to Mission Trauma Center with potential serious injuries, according to a report by Kehler.
