Jacksonville, FL : Child critical after pickup collides with minivan on Beach Blvd. near Kernan Boulevard Monday afternoon on September 22, 2014
Three children were injured, one with life-threatening injuries, in a crash on Beach Boulevard near Kernan Boulevard Monday afternoon.
The crash happened on Beach at Station Creek Boulevard about 4 p.m.
All three children and their mother were taken to UF Health Jacksonville. Reagan Jackson, 5, has life-threatening injuries. The other two children, 1-year-old Ansley and 7-year-old Riley have serious injuries. Their mother, 40-year-old Lisa Ann Jackson was treated with minor injuries, according to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The report said a blue truck was traveling eastbound on Beach Boulevard, and the children were in a van with their mother, heading northbound on Station Creek Road. The van made a left at the intersection of Station Creek and Beach when a the truck ran a red light and struck the van on the driver's side.
The driver of the truck, Tobias Tyler Witkowski, was also transported to UF Health with minor injuries.
"That investigation will continue and at the conclusion of the investigation we'll issue all applicable charges to the appropriate parties," said FHP spokesman Sgt. Dylan Bryan.
