Wailuku, HI : Maui moped driver injured in early sunday morning crash on Olinda Road near Makawao on November 30, 2014

A 36-year-old Maui man driving a moped suffered life-threatening injuries early Sunday in a crash with a pickup. Maui police say the moped just after 1 a.m. was on Olinda Road near Makawao and was struck from behind by the truck. The moped driver was transported to the emergency room of Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet when he was struck. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
