Gulfport ,MS : Pickup truck driver killed in wreck along Highway 90 on Tuesday night ,July 7th 2015

A pickup truck driver was killed when his vehicle collided with an SUV and overturned along Highway 90 on Tuesday night.

Police said the Chevrolet truck was heading eastbound when it crashed near 21st Avenue, just after 6:30 p.m.

Investigators said the truck collided with a Buick Enclave that was heading in the same direction.

The driver of the Chevrolet lost control and crashed into the center median. The vehicle then overturned in the westbound lanes of Highway 90.

The Chevrolet driver, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released because his next of kin has not been notified. His passenger was not hurt.

The driver of the Buick Enclave, an adult female, was taken to the hospital along with her passenger. They both received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The westbound lanes of Highway 90 were shut down while the wreck was being cleared. Traffic is now back to normal.
