A Hampstead woman has been accused of driving while impaired and causing another person to need surgery.
Krystal Taylor Grimes, 23, of Beckys Circle was arrested Friday by the North Topsail Beach Police Department on two charges of serious injury by vehicle.
Grimes is accused of causing one woman head trauma and internal injuries requiring surgery while subject to an impairing substance while driving on N.C. 210, according to warrants.
Grimes is also accused of causing a second woman head trauma, a broken back, 2 broken ribs, a dislocated rib and a shoulder injury while subject to an impairing substance while driving on N.C. 210, according to warrants.
The women injured in the wreck are identified in warrants as Donna Dachand and Andrea Boyden.
The Daily News reached out to the police department Saturday for more details about the wreck, including where and when it took place, but the department said Assistant Town Manager Carin Faulkner, who would not be available until Monday, is the only person permitted to give details about the wreck to the media.
