Sapulpa, OK : Bristow man dies in single-vehicle crash in Creek County early Sunday, April 24, 2016

A man died early Sunday after the pickup he was driving crashed into a concrete pier, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

The 60-year-old man, whose name was not released pending notification of next-of-kin, was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram east on 151st Street South, when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck the pier, troopers said.

The crash occurred about 10:20 p.m. Saturday near 433rd West Avenue, about eight miles south of Bristow, the OHP said.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was pronounced dead at 12:07 a.m. from internal injuries.

He was trapped inside the pickup for about 30 minutes.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said. His condition and the cause of the crash are under investigation, the OHP said.
