A 34-year-old man on a bicycle was struck by a car Sunday afternoon in Gainesville, according to a report.

Alex F. Federwich of Las Vegas was riding a bicycle east in the bicycle lane of Northwest 39th Avenue near the intersection of Northwest 92nd Court.

At around 4:18 p.m, Abigail Cooper, 38, of Gainesville was headed west in the left turn lane of NW 39th Avenue and turned left onto NW 92nd Court, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Cooper’s 2015 Mazda struck the bike, throwing Federwich against the car’s windshield, the FHP reported.

Federwich had minor injuries, the report said. Cooper, who was unhurt, was cited for failure to yield right of way.
