Broward, FL : Fatal crash snarls Florida's Turnpike Extension near Broward/Miami-Dade line on Friday, 14th September 2018

eadly motorcycle crash tied up traffic for eight hours Friday on the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike.

It was reported shortly after 5:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the extension — the portion of the highway that actually goes east before routing drivers to the turnpike’s mainline and the Golden Glades Interchange.

Eastbound traffic was backed up west of the Northwest 47th Avenue overpass and was being diverted off the turnpike at the Northwest 57th Avenue/Red Road exit while the Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
