Myrtle Beach ,SC : Two NC girls killed, 4 others hurt in wreck on Tuesday night ,July 21st 2015

Horry County officials have released the names of two girls killed in a wreck in Myrtle Beach.

At least four other people were hurt in the wreck that happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 17.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge on Wednesday identified the victims as 9-year-old Skyler Emore and 11-year-old Dakota Shepherd, both of Timberlake, North Carolina.

Myrtle Beach Police Cpt. J.M. Kerns told local media that a minivan and a sedan collided. Edge said the girls were in the backseat of the minivan.

Three people in the minivan and the driver of the other car were taken to Grand Strand Medical Center. All were still in the hospital Wednesday but there was no word on their conditions.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.
