IRONTON, OH : 17-year-old in hospital after ATV accident on Monday, 25th January 2021

A teenager is in the hospital after an ATV accident.

Ironton Police Chief, Pam Wagner, says they received a call at 12:55 a.m. on January 24 about a crash involving two ATVs.

It happened in the 300 block of South 7th Street.

Two people were taken to the hospital.

The family says the driver of one of the ATVs was 17-year-old Vincent Keairns, a senior at Collins Career Center. His family says he was listed in critical condition but his condition has improved. They say he suffered multiple brain bleeds and his liver was bleeding. A candlelight vigil is being planned for Tuesday, which is also Keairns’s 18th birthday. The family says a passenger was riding with Keairns on the ATV and was also taken to the hospital but has been released.
