Two 17-year-old girls were injured when a car crashed and flipped over Monday along Interstate 90 east of Issaquah, the Washington State Patrol reports.
Troopers and medics responded to the scene, the westbound lanes of I-90 just east of Sunset Way, at about 12:20 p.m. after receiving a report of a serious crash.
"They were traveling westbound I-90, just a little bit east of Sunset, when they went off the roadway, down an embankment, into a creek, and somewhere along there their vehicle rolled over and landed on its side," said Trooper Chris Webb.
The car was found upside down off the side of the freeway in brush next to the East Fork of Issaquah Creek.
The driver and a passenger, both 17-year-old girls, were found at the scene with severe injuries. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Both girls were being taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
