Orlando, CA : Orange County deputy injured in fiery car crash on S.R. 408 on Sunday, 1st July 2018

An Orange County deputy was injured Sunday morning when his SUV crashed going westbound on State Road 408 and caught fire, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Sgt. Jamie Hoffman was driving his marked vehicle at 8:30 a.m. near mile marker 6 when the 2000 Mitsubishi SUV in front of him experienced a mechanical issue, said spokeswoman Lt. Kim Montes.

Orlando resident Emmanuel Dorvil, 54, activated the emergency flashing lights on his SUV and attempted to pull over but Hoffman crashed into the back, left side of his vehicle, according to the accident report.

The deputy’s vehicle then caught fire, the report said.
