The 76-year-old motorcycle driver who was injured Friday in a Greeley crash died at the hospital.
The crash happened about 3:15 p.m. when Ralph Bogart of Greeley was headed west on 20th Street on a 2014 Honda motorcycle and collided with a red 2010 Dodge Ram pickup near 28th Avenue. Greeley police Lt. Craig Miller said Saturday the motorcycle and the truck were both headed west. The motorcycle drifted into the outside lane and collided with the side of the truck.
The driver of the truck, Reanna Gonzales, was not injured. Miller said the investigation into the crash is ongoing, but it’s not likely any charges or citation will be appropriate in the case.
Bogart initially survived the crash and was taken by ambulance to North Colorado Medical Center. He died at 10:28 p.m. Friday, according to the Weld County Coroner’s Office.
He is the 34th person to die so far this year on Weld County roads. Through this date last year, 42 people had died.
